Shane and I must have been drunk when we decided it would be a good idea to have two back-to-back birthday parties for Rose. After everyone left, Shane swore that next year there would be just one party. It really was a lot of work, but they were both so much fun!

• Crispy Kale •
Heat oven to 275. Wash kale and dry well. Cut ribs from kale and tear or cut into big but bite-size chunks. Coat with olive oil until well coated but not drowning. Sprinkle with salt. Roast on a baking tray (or trays, you don’t want to crowd the kale) in oven until crispy, turning if necessary to crisp all parts.
